Day 1: Yangon arrival (G)
Upon arrival, you’ll be welcomed by your guide and transferred to your accommodation. Your exploration of Yangon will begin in the afternoon, as you visit some of the city’s most awe-inspiring sites, from the Kyaukhtatgyi Pagoda’s immense reclining Buddha to the glittering Shwedagon Pagoda. Join the locals for a cup of tea at a teashop and take a stroll around scenic Kandawgyi Park. Overnight in Yangon.
Day 2: Yangon (B, G)
Your second day in Yangon will give you a glimpse of local lifestyle as you embark on the slow-moving circle train into the suburbs. Disembark at a busy market and chat with the friendly vendors. Spend the afternoon enjoying a car ride and gaze at the city’s colonial quarter, turning along the famous Strand Road to the riverside. Overnight in Yangon.
Day 3: Yangon/Dhala/Yangon (B, L, G)
After breakfast, you’ll transfer to the Nanthida Jetty to board a ferry to cross the Yangon River to Dhala. After the 15 minute ride, travel by trishaw around town. You’ll visit the market and a local temple for a glimpse of monastic life. Head back to Yangon, enjoy lunch and explore the city’s art galleries or discover the traditional medicines of Myanmar at Kon Zay Dan Street. Overnight in Yangon.
Day 4: Yangon/Pathein/Ngwe Saung Beach (B)
Heading out of town we’ll make our way towards Pathein. You’ll pass many sleepy villages, lush plantations and intricate network of canals which are the lifeblood of the Irrawaddy Delta. This vast basin stretches from the Bago Range to the coast of the Bengal Bay and receives year around drainage from several major rivers including the Irrawaddy, Hlaing and Ngawun. We arrive in Ngwe Saung Beach after a five hour drive and spend the time for an well earned rest on beach. Overnight in Ngwe Saung Beach.
Day 5 and Day 6: Ngwe Saung beach (B)
The endless white sand beaches, transparent seawater, pretty islands nearby and rows of palm trees make Ngwe Saung an irresistible attraction for beach lovers. You can soak up the sun and sea as much as you want by spending your time on the turquoise water to enjoy swimming or lazing on a beach on these free days. There are also some possibilities to visit some nearby villages and local markets, explore the countryside by bike or enjoy a boat trip to the magnificent offshore islands. These optional trips are not included, however you are advised to contact the hotel receptionist for information. You’ll spend the night in Ngwe Saung Beach.
Day 7: Ngwe Saung Beach/Yangon (B)
Today we spend a half day relaxing on a beach until we embark our waiting vehicle for the return journey. A part of the pleasure of travelling in this region is the simple joy of seeing the rice fields and the smiling faces of the people. There are several stops for you to stretch your legs and catch some wonder full pictures. You’ll spend the night in Yangon.
Day 8: Yangon departure (B)
After breakfast, you’ll have a car and driver at your disposal until your transfer to the airport for your departure flight.
