Day 1: Luang Prabang/Ban Had Kham (L, D, G)
After a 1.5 hour drive, put your kayaks in the water and set off paddling along the scenic Nam Ou River. Although you will encounter easy rapids, the waters are calm enough for beginning paddlers. This evening, encounter the rich traditions and culture of one of Laos’ hilltribe groups with a riverside homestay. Overnight in a homestay, Ban Had Kham village.

Day 2: Ban Had Kham/Pak Ou/Ban Xang Hai/Luang Prabang (B, L, G)
The scenery changes this morning as you kayak away from the Nam Ou River and onto the waters of the Mekong River. Limestone cliffs fill the scenery and you will stop to enjoy the views at Pak Ou caves and visit a village known for its fabulous local rice wine. From here, you can paddle the remainder of the way to Luang Prabang or rest with a transfer by local truck. Overnight in Luang Prabang.

Day 3: Luang Prabang (B, L, G)
Enjoy a new perspective of the Luang Prabang forests with a ride aboard the back of an elephant. Make your way to Tad Sae waterfall where you’ll say bye to your elephant and continue on foot. A half day trek takes you to a Khmu village for a chance to meet the friendly locals and witness the great views. Overnight in Luang Prabang.

Day 4: Luang Prabang/Khuang Si Waterfall/Departure (B, L, G)
The final day of your active Laos tour takes you by bike to the Kuang Si waterfalls, stopping at traditional Hmong villages along the way. The falls are approximately 30 kilometers from the city center but if you are too tired to cycle, a support vehicle will be following close by to give you a ride and a chance to rest your legs. Return to Luang Prabang this afternoon.
