- Guide (s):
Mr. Son (North of Vietnam): He was adventurous. His English was okay, his personality was pleasant and fun loving, and he made it a very interesting experience.
Ms. Suong (Centre of Vietnam): Very fluent in English, and pleasant
Mr. Le (South of Vietnam): He is very well informed and very engaging, so a good person to make the day interesting, especially when it involves long car rides
- Accommodation:
Lotus Hotel (In Hoi An): a very pleasant hotel located midway between the beach and the town. I liked this location, and the rooms were nicely decorated. The staff was pleasant, professional, and very willing to help. This was an excellent choice
Yasaka Hotel (In Nha Trang): Overall I would say this hotel was a disappointment. The staff seemed disorganized, the lobby was very commercial and not very inviting, the public Jacuzzi was dirty. I heard other guests voicing similar complaints
- Transport (Land, water, train and air):
The overnight train ride to Hue was an adventure I fully enjoyed. The flights I took HCM and to Nha Trang all went according to plan, the car drivers in Hanoi, Central and HCM were all professional and their cars were clean
- Restaurants:
In the North: The restaurant in Hue was okay, but I felt it was very much a tourist place, as opposed to a real Vietnamese experience
In the Centre: Ms Suong chose a very interesting place for my lunch
