\u201cThanh Chuong salad\u201d is known as \u201cnh\u00fat\u201d, made from the core of unripe jackfruit, mixed with salt in a bottle untill it becomes sour. It is a usual dish of the locals, and got with chilli sauce or fish sauce. Where is the name \u201cThanh Chuong salad\u201d from? Thanh Chuong is the name of the land where its locals can make the most delicious salad. Up to now it has been just a dish in everyday meals. However, travellers who come here will certainly bring some of \u201cThanh Chuong salad\u201d home.<\/span><\/p>\n

Nam Dan is the native land of 2 great people: Phan Boi Chau and Ho Chi Minh. There is a speciality that impresses almost all people: \u201cNam Dan chilli sauce\u201d. <\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cNam Dan chilli sauce\u201d has been made in traditional way. All people in the commune use chilli sauce in their meal. Moreover, it is a kind of food which is very suitable for the taste of everyone. Its ingredients are features of this land, and it is made very sophisticatedly. The kind of glutinous rice used to make chilli sauce must be of good quality. Soy used is soy of spring season. The jars used are good jars covered with caps, sucked in water for 3 or 4 days before exposed to sunshine. What makes \u201cNam Dan chilli sauce\u201d special is its mould. <\/span><\/p>\n

There are many kinds of \u201cNam Dan chilli sauce\u201d: chilli sauce for cooking, for eating, sweat sauce, \u201cinstant\u201d sauce. The difference among them \u00a0is the rate between soy, glutinous rice and salt. <\/span><\/p>\n

There are about 32.000 families in Nam Dan, and 22.000 of them know how to make chilli sauce. Each family make an average of about 50 litre of chilli sauce every year. The quantity of the commune is about over 1 million litre. It was first just a dish for everyday meal, but has become a speciality. It can be used with pork, beef, spinach,\u2026 <\/span><\/p>\n
